Her private medical insurance refused to reimburse her solely because she is under US sanctions. Even official engagements have been obstructed: the European Union Parliament invited her for a talk, booked a room for her, and then cancelled it simply because the reservation carried her name.

Hundreds of Israeli occupation soldiers, backed by armored vehicles, launched a massive military operation in the Palestinian town of Tubas near Nablus on Wednesday, marking the largest such deployment in the occupied West Bank since the Gaza ceasefire last month.
Curfews, roadblocks, and families forced from their homes to allow the occupation forces to occupy buildings, as in Jenin and Tulkarm, where previous assaults displaced tens of thousands.
Violence in the West Bank has surged since October 2023, with UN reports documenting over 1,000 Palestinian killings, including children, caused by Israeli occupation forces’ “systematic and excessive use of lethal force.”
Human Rights Watch recently condemned Israel’s forced displacement of 32,000 West Bank refugees in early 2025 as war crimes and crimes against humanity, noting that most displaced families have not been allowed to return to their demolished homes.
In 1947, the United Nations General Assembly committed the UN’s original sin when it partitioned Palestine to create Israel. This launched the Nakba, the ethnic cleansing of the Indigenous people, and the establishment of a settler colonial state.
Now, 78 years later, the UN Security Council has committed the UN’s second cardinal sin.

NEW | Israel bars two U.S. doctors from entering the West Bank to treat Palestinian patients.
Dr. Maryam Saidy and Dr. Umer Chaudhry, both volunteers with HEAL Palestine and experienced physicians from California, had coordinated their visit and received electronic entry permits. They were set to perform dozens of surgeries in occupied Hebron and Beit Jala, Haaretz reports.
At the Allenby Bridge crossing, Israeli occupation soldiers detained them for hours, questioned their social media, contacts, and ethnic background, and ultimately denied their entry.
Palestinians hoped the Gaza ceasefire with Israel would offer a chance to recover from two years of genocide, but a month later, Israel continues to strike with impunity, the economic crisis remains, and nutritious food is nearly impossible to find.
