A common experience I discuss with other #GenX : Groomed for early success in "gifted and talented" programs, ending up "underachievers" or dropouts in high school/college - because we lacked the social/emotional skills, executive function or other capabilities that our peers could manage.

Some of this is better now with special education programs, which were either nonexistent or in their infancy when we were kids. But really, my Millennial/Gen Z kids got short shrift too.

On one hand, pure 80s cheese.
On the other, absolutely iconic genre metal.
